I liked the original YSL Glossy Stain shade line up. The shade No.09 is still my lip jam for when I’m in the mood for something red and hi-shine on the lip. But the newly released Rebel Nude colours? Well they’re right up my street. Originally formulated as bold and bolshy shades, YSL have given them a nude twist by pairing each with a white base to magic them in to more everyday colours. The formula’s the same; dewy, long-lasting and a wear that leaves a pretty stain behind. And the application too; apply once, allow to set and slick on again. But the shades offer a more muted alternative to the rest of the range.
I’ve given No.102* (pictured left) and No.106* (pictured right) a go and out of the two surprisingly the more pinkier one is my favourite. 102 can looklittle too brown for my tastes and make my teeth look a rather unattractive shade of yellow but 106 does the opposite. Making lips look gorgeously kissable (don’t, it will smudge) and brightening the complexion. Need picture evidence? I’ll be sure to pop up a swatch of it on the lips soon. A 3-in-1 stain, colour and gloss that’s a nude? Genius.
