I’ve been an avid gel polish wearer now for a few years. Mainly with my toenails because I find it such a chore to paint them, but using a gel formula means that I only have to do it like 12 times a year. Gross, but true. The only bit that I’m not so into is removal. I usually spend an hour walking around with my toes wrapped in tin foil and looking like an alien in the hopes of soaking them off and it’s just a big faff. And you all know that I’m not a fan of faffing when it comes to beauty.
However, I recently picked up this handy little tool from Boots – Sensationail Gel Polish Removal Tool. It’s basically a little scraper for your nails which sounds a bit grim, but actually it works really well and makes hacking off the gels a slightly less time-consuming experience. I also picked up the Sensationail Nail Shields whilst I was there because I thought they were nail polish remover tabs, but actually they’re nail-sized stickers that you use under gels to protect the nail. DOH! Apparently it makes the polish easier to remove too. Sounds kinda interesting, anyone given them a go? They also had some pouches soaked in remover which looked like they’d come in handy too. No more alien feet and spending the hour walking around like I’m a toddler. I’ll pick ’em up next time I’m in town.
