Winter SOS

I’m not sure if you’ve realised but I’m one of those cold weather moaners. In fact, I’m constantly cold throughout the year, even in the heat of summer I’m shivering under a cardi or questioning weather it’s ok to wear trousers on a night out (answer – it is, as long as you don’t mind holding your sweaty hair up in a pineapple-like fashion all night when you forget to bring a hairband out with you). After many weeks of threatening to bring it out of hibernation the onesie did indeed experience its first use of the winter last night much to my boyfriends exasperation so I think it’s time to bring out the big guns and indulge in some winter SOS…

Cold weather, moisturisers – it’s a dunzo, they go hand in hand. But where to start? I’ve been giving some extra care to my hair recently and have been dolloping on the Joico K-Pak Reconstructor as a deep conditioning treatment after shampooing. I haven’t got too much left as I’ve been dishing out samples to my mates after singing it’s praises but if you can stomach the scent (banana again, yak), then it makes locks super smooth. For body I’m going to give the African Botanics Pure Marula Oil* a go, which has just launched into Space NK. Murula is the new Argan appaz and although this oil is supposed to be for face I think I’ll be slathering this orange-smelling concoction it on to my limbs and allsorts. There’s always a handcream taking a dip in the bottom of my bag and the Nivea Smooth & Nourishing one is serving it’s purpose perfectly well at the moment. My skin isn’t looking too horrendous right now, but I could always do with a bit of sandblasting the ol’ cobwebs away so I recently purchased the Oskia Renaissance Mask. Now I haven’t had a free 10 minutes to lay in a dark room with this munching away at my skin yet, but when I do I will make notes for you. Aren’t I good? Lip-wise there’s a double-whammy. The La Roche Posay Ceralip treatment (nice but still not up to By Terry Baume de Rose standard – dayum), and something light and nourishing with a hint of colour – the Burberry Lip Mist in Nude Peach No.212. My lips have somehow managed to stay smooth and chapfree – win. Now it hasn’t come out best in the picture, but nestled in there someone is OPI’s German-Icure* – a fiery, shimmering red which I painted on the other weekend and unexpectantly loved! I’m on a red roll.

After writing this I am well and truly ready to get oiled up, throw on my onesie and hibernate for the rest of year. But no doubt I will just have a wee nap and be back tomorrow with your daily beauty dose.
