I’m not huge on celebrity endorsed or created products – rushed launches, naff packaging and poor quality ranges spring to mind. However I’ll let one exception through the net – the new beauty line collaboration between makeup artist Kim Jacob and Louise Redknapp – Wild About Beauty, and here’s why. Number one – Louise was my favourite member of Eternal (remember them? I still know all the words to ‘I Wanna Be The Only One’, not that I’m bragging or anything, or though I think Louise had made a swift exit by then), and secondly, her makeup always looks rather fabulous – she has that glowy, natural thing down to a tee. So as a bit of an introduction to the range I’ve been giving the limited edition multi-purpose Divine Night Palette* offering a go and it may well have sercured a permanent spot in my beauty stash….
The Divine Night palette though limited edition as a whole contains permanent products from the Wild About Beauty range; Powder Eyeshadows in Rowan, Heather, Polly and Jody, Multi-purpose Tint in Lynne, Nutrilips Gloss in Louloubella, Glow Stick in Winston and the Powder Blush in Molly. Firstly lets get the crappy bits out the way. I can’t say I’m too hot about the name nor branding, or the packaging for that matter (although the big mirror comes in handy) and I’m not sure the purple eyeshadow shade will ever get an outing, but it’s what inside that counts, and that is what impressed me the most. For the look above I used the Powder Eyeshadow in Rowan all over the lid, then Polly in the crease, the Powder Blush in Molly and Glow Stick in Winston on the cheeks and then my favourite product of all, Multi-Purpose Tint in Lynne on the lips. It was one of those moments where I was slapping it all on and thought it looked ok, then stepped back in the mirror after and was really chuffed with what I had ended up with. It even became my day-to-night saviour as I threw a combination from this palette on in the loo’s before the Cosmo Blog Awards last night! Classy as always. My pick out of the bunch would have to be the Multi-Purpose Tint in Lynne – it is just so damn beautiful, can be used on lips and cheeks (I prefer it on the lips) – will definitely be picking it up on it’s own.
You can pick this up from Wild About Beauty counters in Debenhams or House of Fraser or on their online shop and at £29 I’d say it’s fairly priced for what you’re getting – four eyeshadows, a cheek tint, lipgloss, blush and highlight – basically all the colour you’d need for a simple look in one palette. Right, and as you’ve been humming it in your head for the duration of the post here is a link to Eternal’s classic for your audible pleasure right here.
