Up until the age of about 12 I was banned from nail polish. This was mainly down to the fact that I was, and still am, incredible clumsy and as I’ve mentioned before my Mum’s justification was proved correct a few years later when the ban was lifted and during a particularly grungey phase I spilt black nail polish down my lilac bedroom walls. So when I was younger I had to get creative if I wanted to experiment with nail colour. I either had to sneakily apply it round friend’s houses or go back to basics. I’m talking Tip-Ex baby. I used to thickly apply it to my nails and chip it off myself throughout the day. So gross, it kind of makes my toes curl when I think of it now. So when I put the Bourjois La Laque in White Spirit to the test for the first time, I was a little conflicted…
On the one hand the formula was on-point. I practically only needed one coat. It’s that good. No streaks and it layers up well without any lumps and bumps. On the downside it reminds me of being in year 6, learning really hard spellings that I wouldn’t be able to remember now without autocorrect and painting my nails with Tip-Ex. I’m undecided about this one. So what do you think? White nail polish – a do or an absolute don’t?
P.S) Please forgive my sloppy paint job in the above picture. I was attempting to paint over a gel manicure and it was a BAD IDEA.
