You all know about my love for lycra by now. ‘To spend at least 90% of my time in leggings‘ is one of my goals in life and this becomes a hell of a lot easier to achieve when my favourite clothing brand collaborates with one of London’s coolest fitness studios. Yep, I’m talking about the Whistles x Move Your Frame activewear collaboration. It’s the second time they’ve knocked heads together and you might remember me going a little mad over their first line. A year on and I still love the legging and crop top set that I purchased and I often tout the leggings as one of the most comfortable bottom half items that I’ve ever slipped on my pins. Well let me tell you that round two has again managed to combine seamless fashion with athletic function and the resulting collection is all kinds of heart eye emoji. Here’s how I like to wear it from sweating to Sunday brunch…
THE GYM – Mesh Split Back T-Shirt in Grey // Studio Stretch Crop Top // Stripe Stretch Legging. You know how I said that the leggings from last year’s collection are one of the most comfortable bottom half items that I’ve ever slipped on my pins? Well, the Stripe Stretch Leggings get that stamp of approval too, along with being the winners of the ‘Most Flattering on the Behind‘ award. I have honestly never been complimented so much as when I’ve worn these leggings. The lines and panelling work some optical illusion magic and the muted rose fabric offers a nice pop of colour to my monochrome workout wardrobe. I like to pair them with the Studio Stretch Crop Top which works well for low impact activities and doesn’t have any bands or straps that dig in and the Mesh Split Back T-Shirt that sits somewhere in-between baggy and fitted and doesn’t cling to your body when things get intense in the sweat-department.
THE STUDIO – Workout Longline Top // Studio Stretch Leggings. It’s the same story here with the Studio Stretch Leggings. The fabric is composed a little differently to the Stripe Stretch Leggings, so they’re smoother feeling rather than softer and from the testing that I’ve carried out these work just as well for more restorative activities like Yoga because the waistline is nice and high (no risqué moments during Downward Dog), as they do for more sweat inducing activities. I like to go for the Workout Longline Top when I roll out my mat as the T-bar back gives me a full range of motion in my arms and the removable cups mean that I can forgo a bra top underneath. Less washing to do afterwards. I’m all for that.
THE STREET – Relaxed Sweatshirt // Stripe Stretch Legging. Oh yep, we’re back on the leggings rave train again. Being that they’re oh-so-comfortable, I often want to wear them outside the gym too (plus, there’s the added bonus that I can tuck a brunch baby into them). All I do is throw on the Relaxed Sweatshirt (again, fab for hiding a brunch baby under), grab my bag, pop on some trainers and head out the door and into a big ol’ plate of pancakes. You’re probably bored of my ‘It’s just so soft and comfortable!‘ fawns, but seriously have a feel in store and I dare you to not want to stroke your face with it. There’s some seriously soft stuff going on here. Screw it – lets turn that 90% of loungewear living into a 100%!
