You may have already heard the buzz surrounding the latest budget brand hitting the shops, it’s called VIVO and is being rolled into Tesco stores around the country as we speak! Think MUA, but the Supermarket version – nothing costs more than £6 and there are an array of products from primers to highlighters, bronzers to blushers and a hell load of eyeshadows in various colours and formulations. The ladies from VIVO sent over some neutral makeup offerings that were exactly to my taste, they know me so well 😉
VIVO Baked Bronzer in Healthy Glow – £5
Firstly, I have to say that this in no way shape or form a bronzer. It is a bronze-based highlighter at best! Now when it comes to highlighting it does a great job, it has similar tones to the Dior Amber Diamond Highlighter although it is slightly less refined than that. It definitely lives up the name and gives skin a ‘healthy glow’. If you are looking for a highstreet highlighter than this is it, it is a million times better than the highlighter that comes in the Sleek Contour Kit which gives skin a glittery look, the VIVO version just imparts a very subtle shimmer.
VIVO Lipstick in Barely There – £1.99
The VIVO ladies obviously know me well, as this nude with brown undertones was always going to be a winner for me. In fact after I opened the package, my Mum came in to inspect my wares and attempted to nab this from my straight away – cheeky! The formula itself is very nice, somewhere in between that of a 17 Mirror Shine and a MAC Cremesheen, glossy but with semi-opaque colour. And the colour is a very Kim Kardashian-esque nude. I would be interested to see what the rest of the colours are like, as cheap lippies always tend to have a horrid frost running through them, but this one is beautifully creamy, one wonders if they are all like that?
VIVO Mattifying Translucent Loose Powder – £3
I was extremely grateful to have received this as my MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural is running pretty low. Although I haven’t been favouring powder too much recently, I have been giving myself a light dusting of this over the t-zone and it’s rather nice. Nothing to special, but it does the job and doesn’t look too chalky on the skin.
There you have a it, a few mini ‘speed-reviews’ on some budget beauty pieces, which is a little different for me as I am always usually a high-end girl 😉 From what I have tested out the products seem to be pretty good quality, and I would recommend picking some bits up in you are in Tescos, why the hell not!? From other reviews that I have seen on the Internet the Baked Blushes look really nice, although I definitely do not need to be adding to my blushers collection anytime soon.
Tonight, I am off for a surprise weekend away! Well I know where I’m going, but a few people that I’m going to visit don’t! I love surprising people 😉 One time I came back from Uni as a surprise for my Mum, my sister snuck me into the house and then I hid in her bed and RAWR! LOVE IT! Hope everybody had a nice weekend 🙂
