The spring beauty drops are coming thick and fast and the one that has made my heart race the most comes courtesy of Tom Ford. Say hello to the white packaging that adorned TF when it first hit the shelves, for a limited time only housing a lip and nail collection. Four shades of polish and eight colours of lipstick; ranging from barely-there buffs and in yer face pinks – there’s something for everyone and as always with Tom Ford, it’s oh so luxe.
Firstly the Lip Colour Sheers, which really are anything but sheer. Sure the texture is light and they impart a dewy look to the lips, but woah nelly – the bolder shades pack some serious punch. Firecracker is an orange-based red which I’ve mentally added to my shopping list, but Summer Fling is my favourite – not only for the name promise. It’s a peachy pink (dur), that has a touch of golden sheen to it that usually I’m dead set against, but somehow it just makes my lips look….juicy.
Then there are the four Spring Collection Colour Nail Polishes. I wouldn’t say the brush is anything to write home about, but the formula is hardy. I had a mani done with it and it’s lasted almost a week with barely chip in sight (though the Manicurist did use, Seche Vite Base Coat – got to get me some of that). It’s a toughie to pick between the four, but I do have a favourite. Incandescent gets ruled out because I’m not the biggest fan of shimmer, Coral Beach – a ripe peach – though beautiful, I think would be more of a summer colour on myself and Sugar Dune I love, but I have waaaay too many nudes. So it’s Indiscretion that takes the top spot. A hot fuchsia pink wins for once. It was about time.
I have to say, though the polishes are so darn dreamy – the £26 price tag just can’t be justified. Save your pennies and splurge on some other lacquer launches that I’ll be sharing in an upcoming spring edit-esque video. The lipsticks however? Now they are lush. I advise hiding your bank cards and avoiding eye contact with the Tom Ford counter at all times.
