They See Me Hauling…

Lesson one: never go shopping with Lily Pebbles, it just ends with your wallet weeping a little and aching feet from stomping the length and breadth of Oxford Street. Lesson two: don’t add Amelia into the mix, it just gets worse. With two devils on my shoulder and what started as a quick dash to pick up one product turning into a full-blown spree complete with an outrageous and egged-on purchase here’s what made it into my basket on the aforementioned expedition. Oh yep, I’ve been hauling…

First up, let’s address the elephant in the photo – CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in B20. I mentioned in yesterday’s post that there was an entertaining story behind the purchase of yet another shade in this range, but to cut a long tale short Lily dared me to ask if the shade I’d been eyeing up was in stock. It was (Boots by Bond Street if you’re interested). With enabling glances from both the girls, and Amelia singing its praises, the rest is history. Do I love it? Yes. Will I now be eating beans on toast dinners for the next month? Most certainly.

The one item that was actually on my pre-prepared list was a lavender polish, a slot that was surprisingly lacking in my current collection. I fancied Essie’s Lilacism, but with that out of stock I plumped for Go Ginza instead from their Spring 2013 collection – a shade that Amelia informed me is the more lilac version of Essie’s Fiji. Nice. With the pastel passion continuing, and after spotting it looking a beaut on a girl’s nails a week or two ago ingrained in my mind – the new Nail Inc’s Royal Botanical Gardens polish also made it home with me. Because one can never have enough minty tip options, right?

Finally, the most unseasonal purchase of them all them all – a red lipstick pencil, namely NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square. I’ve been eyeing these colour pumped pencils up for a while and after a swatchathon of the various formulas, I went for this opaque scribe of orange-undertoned rouge. When I do a bold lip I love a matte texture, no slipping or tooth-smudged action just a long-lasting hit of colour. And in the summer there’s just something about sporting your sunglasses with a big matte pout, I’m all over it. Expect to see some shades and pout combos posted soon.

And you know what? Shopping with two beauty-beefed-up devils on your arm is actually way more fun. Sorry I’m not sorry.
