The Post Travelling Pamper

IMG_7790

This one goes out to all my fellow homebodies out there. You know when you have those weeks that are just busy or you’re here, there, everywhere and when you get back you just feel like you need the world’s longest nap? Yeah I’ve been there. I must admit that after the first part of #BeautyChatLIVE wrapped up, I slept for 16 hours when I got home that weekend and it was glorious. Well this past week has been another busy one and even though I find myself in Brighton today to cheer on Mark and my Dad in the Half Marathon, I’m planning a mega pamper when we get back later today. I thought I’d share what was on the menu incase you need a bit of chill-out inspiration too…

1. RELAX. Now I LOVE the Therapie Himalayan Detox Bath Salts. But so does Mark and thanks to his tendency to use a quarter of a jar per bath, we go through them pretty quickly. I recently restocked my stash (there’s an amazing deal on Cult Beauty on at the moment), but I also picked up the Equilibrium Bath & Shower Essence which smells, as always with their products – heavenly, but will hopefully last a bit longer. I’m going to give it its first whirl tonight.

2. SCRUB. I have to say that I’m extremely lazy at scrubbing down my body, especially as I rarely ever use fake tan these days, but my face? Yes, that still gets a good sloughing every now and again thanks to the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, which I hear whispers that is soon to be released in the UK, so I’ll shut up about it for now and resuming raving when it’s easier to get your hands on it – promise!

3. TREAT. Here is where I layer on the serums and oils. Firstly it’s a toss-up between Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair or Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis Intense Hydration Booster. The former I use if I’m a little more blemish-y and the latter if my complexion’s looking a little more dry. Then it’s all about oils and I’m not sure I need to mention my favourite again, so I’ll just whisper it *the MV Skincare Rose Plus Booster* which I slap on, three drops – oh pushing the boat out – adding a drop of the Odacité Vital Glow Serum Concentrate to really get my glow going to J.Lo-like levels.

4. PAINT. There’s a reason why nail polish hasn’t heavily featured on the blog recently and it’s because I’ve got horribly lazy with it. Nails Inc Porchester Square gets lacquered on for special occasions and that’s that. However, after seeing this shade on Lily Pebbles multiple times, I thought I should get round to trying Essie’s Maximilian Strasse-Her and man is it a beaut. It’s a colour that I can’t quite put my finger on – no pun intended – kinda grey, kinda blue, kinda greeny; whatever it is, it’s revived my love for colour and tonight I’ll be re-painting it on again.

5. READ. In attempt to make my evening routine a tech-free zone I’ve been keeping a book in permanent residence on my dressing table to lure me in to opening the pages each night and so far, it’s working. Right now, it’s ‘Deliciously Ella’ by Ella Woodward that’s sitting there and though it might seem odd to have a recipe book on your night stand it’s wordy enough that I learn something new every time I dig into it, it also gives me some inspiration for what to whip up in the kitchen the next day and means I go to sleep dreaming of Sweet Potato Brownies (which are seriously awesome and non-potato-y tasting at all FYI).
