The Nail Polish Set Where You’ll Use Every Colour

IMG_9757 IMG_9759

When I posted a picture of this nail polish trio on my Instagram yesterday, you guys loved it and responded with heart-eye emojis aplenty and seeing as that’s the reaction I had too when I first clapped my eyes on it, I thought that this set was well worth a mention. That’s the thing; with varnish collections that can only be purchased as a whole there’s always a colour or two that you’ll never end up using, but here – I genuinely swoon and will use every single paint. There’s not a colour that will gather dust here.

It’s called the Soigné Ajaccio Gift Set and though they have a UK website (where most of their stock is on sale – WHOOP), it seems to only be available over at Birchbox. The three can actually be purchased separately – again from Birchbox – but you’re saving a good couple of quid by sticking to the set and as I say, every colour is a good’un here. From left to right we have Pistache, Lavande and Menthe. Pistache is like the pastel version of Essie’s Maximilian-Strasse Her. A bluey-grey-green, which is what I’m wearing in the picture above and is the one I’m drawn to the most. Now I’m not the biggest fan of purple, but I’ve actually used Lavande before as it’s a less ‘in yer face’ lilac and again has those grey tones that mean that it doesn’t get too sickly sweet. Menthe is a vivid mint that is next on my ‘to paint’ list and has ‘holiday toe colour’ written all over it.

Colours aside, the formula is one of the best I’ve ever tried. The polish glides on smoothly to the nail, dries quickly and lasts well with a top coat (though I’m extremely heavy handed and so if a polish lasts more than two days on me then I’m impressed!). It’s the whole smooth thing that I like, because with such pale shades there’s nothing worse than a texture that takes ages to dry and you end up dragging the colour off the cuticle end of your nail bed as you layer up. The brush is a good choice too; it picks up just the right amount of colour so it doesn’t overload and blob on your sofa (note to self: stop painting your nails on the sofa) and it has a curved end so does that whole ‘cuticle hugging’ thing.

The only thing left to do is to work out how to correctly pronounce Soigné because in my head I read it as Beyoncé’s sister’s name – Solange – every time…
