Seeing as tonight is practically the ‘Unofficial Night for Office Christmas Parties‘ I thought I’d talk you through some lipstick options that you can pick up from Boots or a department store on your lunch break and paint them on at your desk when 6pm rolls around. There’s something for every budget, every lipstick colour confidence level and shade palette to go with whatever outfit change you have stuffed in your drawer for later on…
For A Nude Lip Treat… CHANEL Rouge Coco Lipstick in Adrienne. The one to buy if you fancy a little treat before the big night out. I feel like this is such a great year round nude, so if you need any justification – there it is. It’s just the right balance of brown, beige and pink. Oh you’ve heard this all before? OK, I’ll move on…
For An All-Nighter Bold Wash… Boujois Rouge Edition Velvet in Ole Flamingo. If you want a lip colour that’s going to look the shizz in the photos that go up on Facebook the next morning but one that you’re not going to have to think about or touch up at all during the evening then you want to be picking up this with your meal deal at lunch. I like most of the shades from the range, but this one in particular will look banging on everyone.
For A Goes-With-Everything Colour… Maybelline Colour Sensational Creamy Matte in 975 Divine Wine. Now on the face it, this might not seem like a ‘goes with everything‘ colour, but because of its brown base it’s almost like the nude version of a red. Sounds bizarre, but think about it. Nude eye makeup – goes with it. Green eye makeup – goes with it. Bronze eye makeup – …you get the gist.
For A Classic Red… MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo. I think this would be my personal top pick out of the four because whenever I wear it I just feel like I’m rocking my inner Gwen Stefani/Dita Von Teese/Red Lip Wearing Icon. It’s thick and powdery so you might want to get up and put this one on in the bathroom mirror, but the good thing with the grippy texture is that it stays in place really well. A good one to wear if you want to wear a bold, but also want to go to town on that Christmas dinner.
