So The Weekend Post has taken a well earned day off to make way for this month’s instalment of The Fitness Files; an update of all things sweaty that drops on the first of every month. You ready for round two? Let’s do this…
THE SONG TO ADD TO YOUR PLAYLIST – now I’m cheating a bit here because it’s not a song per se, but more just a suggestion. Seeing as Mark and I are doing a lot of long journeys in the car recently, I compiled an ‘Anna & Mark’s Teenage Throwback’ playlist on Spotify and it’s awesome. Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, Eminem, Outkast – our journeys are one long karaoke session. I highly recommend making March the throwback month when it comes to your workout music; you’ll be surprised how many of the lyrics you still know.
THE WORKOUT VIDEO TO GIVE A GO – at some point in the month I really want to give the Fitness Blender ‘Brutal Low Impact Workout’ a go. It sounds horrendous, but the comments suggest it’s a good all-over workout and not too bad. Anyone else in?
THE RECIPE THAT’S WORTH A WHIRL – Deliciously Ella’s Sweet Potato Brownies. I discovered these from her book, but they’re actually the most popular recipe ever from her blog. I made them twice in the month of February because they are that good. They taste chocolatey and rich without actually having chocolate in them – it’s bizarre. I’ve been storing them in the fridge and whipping them out mid-afternoon with a green juice.
THE FITNESS CLOTHING PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR WARDROBE – it’s got to the be Oysho Allover Print Leggings. I literally haven’t taken them off for the whole of February. Gross, but true. Ridiculously comfy, they’ve added something a little different to my all-black workout wardrobe.
THE ROUTINE THAT I’LL BE DOING FOR MARCH – I’m currently on day 29 of the 30 Days of Yoga Challenge by Yoga with Adriene, so I’ll be finishing that off and I think when it ends I’ll continue with the yoga, perhaps even do the series again and seeing if I’ve improved at any aspects perhaps? And then I really want to get back on the running. Starting slow and with short distances, but I want to get back up to the point where I’m pounding the pavement a couple of times a week as I really do miss it. Plus the mornings are finally getting a bit brighter again. Morning joggers rejoice!
