So The Weekend Post has taken a well earned day off to make way for this month’s instalment of The Fitness Files; an update of all things sweaty that drops on the first of every month. You ready for round two? Let’s do this…
THE SONG TO ADD TO YOUR PLAYLIST – Mark Ronson – Uptown Funk (feat. Bruno Mars). I’ve got to admit that I’ve played this song about 117 times since I purchased it. It’s impossible not to tap your feet along to and it’s the perfect warm-up track. I’ve attempted to moon-walk to this across the tiled kitchen floor many times.
THE WORKOUT VIDEO TO GIVE A GO – Yoga by Adriene, 30 Days of Yoga. How good is this? It’s like the playlist of my dreams. I’m aiming to give this a go v.soon. Anyone tried it? Trust me, Adriene can make even the most inflexible person on earth (a.k.a. me) like this bendy practice.
THE RECIPE THAT’S WORTH A WHIRL – it’s not a recipe per se, but more of a collection of recipes. It’s Honestly Healthy Cleanse by Natasha Corrett, a book I picked up last month and it’s seriously packed with recipes. They’re grouped into four cleanses but so far I’ve just been cooking up ones willy nilly and enjoying the results. My favourite I’ve done so far was the Crimson Crumble. So good.
THE FITNESS CLOTHING PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR WARDROBE – the new Olympia Activewear collection on Fashercise. A mix of monochromes with a splash of orange I think I can find some space for it in my pretty chocker workout wear section, though I’m promising myself I’m allowed to purchase one thing if I successfully complete my DailyGreatness Journal. It’s going to be a toss-up between the Athena Sports Bra or the Jet and Bone Moto Leggings.
THE ROUTINE THAT I’LL BE DOING FOR FEBRUARY – rest, recovery and more rest. Unfortunately my dreams of running the Half Marathon ran into some trouble last weekend (no pun intended) after hobbling around on a training run and it all ending in tears (quite literally, dramatic I know). Shin pain is the culprit here and even though I’m beyond gutted to not take part I’ll be spending the month resting up, stretching out my calves and practicing my cheerleader moves to cheer my Dad and Mark round. It’s still my aim to complete a Half Marathon at some point, but right now I think my legs find it enough of a challenge to drag me 10K.
