The Eyeshadow Formula That’s Weird, But Wonderful

IMG_8239 IMG_8181

When I was younger my Dad fixed the glass window in the door to our hallway. He’d just put in a new pane of glass and strictly told my sister and I not to stick our fingers into the fresh putty that was keeping it in place. Well, it’s like he was asking for it. I had a field day prodding my fingers into the malleable putty, making shapes, fingerprints, the lot, until it turned solid. I then tried to blame it on my sister who, being two years younger than me, had noticeably smaller fingertips than the ones that made their lasting mark on the putty. Damn.

Speaking of malleable textures, the minute I prodded my fingers into the MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow to swatch it I had a flashback to the window putty episode. It was just so fun. It’s like a really spongey cream that bounces back at you – weird, but wonderful and a true cream to powder finish. Enjoyable texture aside, the formula is a nice addition to the MAC range. It’s quite heavy on the shimmer but blends out nicely and lasts well (with a primer underneath). I have the shade Superwatt which sits in the taupe family, but I think Coil – a reddy copper – may be next on my shopping list. Unfortunately they’re making a limited edition fleeting appearance as part of the ‘A Novel Romance’ collection, so if you want to go and check them out, I suggest going to have a prod on counter pretty ASAP.
