God I don’t even know where to start with this one! Well, last night was the 2nd annual Cosmo Blog Awards, held in the rather swanky 24Kingly. This year Cosmopolitan recognised that the bloggersphere is hotting up, and nominated hundreds of blogs over 14 categories. A combination of public votes and the Cosmo Web Editors choices lead to the nominations and I was over the moon to be shortlisted. And would you believe it – I only went and bloody won! So ‘Vivanna Does Makeup’ is the Cosmo Blog Award’s Best ‘New Beauty Blog’ 2011! WOWZER 🙂 Thank you so much to everyone who voted, to say this is the highlight of my year is massive understatement! Some people may think that is lame, but I put so much time and effort into my blog and for it to be recognised on such a large scale, and by such influential people means the world to me. I never thought in a million years I would win, with some of my favourite blogs in the same category as me – MakeupSavvy, A Little Obsessed, The Sunday Girl – my money was on one of them! A massive congrats to everyone who was nominated! I had a lovely night, and it was great bumping into some of my blogging buddies again, plus I got to meet some awesome bloggers and youtubers for the first time – they were all BABES! The event itself was amazing! Held in the 24Kingly club, the room was decked out with plenty of pink, discoballs and drinkies for all! The ladies from Benefit and Nail Porn were around to give some impromptu makeovers and Stylist Pick provided some amazing shoes and bags to drool over. Plus there was a photobooth in the corner, which of course everyone went mad over and I managed to get a few snaps in there! I didn’t want to lug my mahoosive SLR around, so apologies for the crappy photos, and thank you to Zoe and Milly for letting me borrow some of their phone snaps 🙂
As you can see everyone was glammed up to the 9’s and looked absolutely stunning! And yep, that picture of me in the middle is me with my award – isn’t it huge! I had fun times this morning taking this to work with a suitcase and a massive laptop bag 😉 It’s a personalised illustration from Ros Shiers and it will have pride of place in my bedroom when it’s redecorated. Aside from obviously winning the award, and meeting all the lovely bloggers, the highlight of the night was the Cosmopolitan.co.uk Web Editor Pat McNulty coming over and telling me that the Cosmo team loved my blog – errrr what?!? I could barely splutter out a ‘Thank You’ I was so flattered!
Now I did try to do a little vlog, but I can’t say it’s that comprehensive as I stupidly deleted all footage that I had taken inside the venue – boo! So it is just me chatting away to the camera. But I did do a quick ‘Outfit Of The Day’ if you wish to see what I was wearing…
