Concealer is probably one of the categories of makeup that I’m most loyal too. I don’t own a tonne (*cough* foundations *cough*) and when I find one that I like, then the chances are that I will use up every last scoop, right till the very end. Case in point: Urban Decay’s Naked Concealer. I originally picked this up back in L.A when I visited last summer, so it’s been a good eight months since I purchased it and it’s fair to say that there isn’t much left to scoop out of the tube. Though I loved this concealer back when I first purchased it for the fact that that it was hydrating, yet pretty high coverage at the same time, as the tube has aged, it’s dried out a little and now it has the lovely habit of clinging on for dear life on all my dry patches.
Now I’m sure that’s just an indicator that I’m in need of a repurchase, but I fancy something different so today I wanted to check in with you lot to see what you’d recommend. Recently I’ve been enjoying the Estée Lauder Doublewear Stay-In-Place Concealer which is another concealer formula that I really love, but again is on its last legs. It’s a cream that’s housed in a compact and it’s pretty full coverage, but the slippy texture means that it’s more forgiving on my parched skin and easier to blend. Though being cream-form it means you either need a brush to apply it (which I can never be arsed with), or your fingers, which is my preferred method of application; though that’s not necessarily the most hygienic option when you’re slapping it on whilst on the train.
Is it time to repurchase the NARS Creamy Concealer? It’s been a while since I’ve used it and I feel like I’ve really romanticised the buttery formula and its staying power. Will it be as good as I remember? Or do I repurchase the Urban Decay or the Estée Lauder ones? Perhaps it’s time for something new? I like my concealers to be creamy and easily blendable, hydrating and with a decent coverage that can dim redness and disguise dark circles. Anything that comes to mind that you’d recommend? What concealer have you been loving at the mo’?
