Some Alternative Beauty Storage Solutions

Makeup Storage Ideas

I’m seriously considering adding ‘beauty storage googling‘ under the hobbies section of my CV. If you looked at my search history, makeup storage solutions would probably account for around 75% of my googles, sandwiched in-between searches for The Office gifs and Parks & Recreation trivia (Fun Fact: did you know that the actor who plays Perd used to be a news reporter and now only ever plays those roles?! Mad). When lipstick collecting is your thing it’s hard to find somewhere to store it all and especially over here in the UK – hello Container Store, please come and visit – we’re a little lacking in options. When I decided to re-home my beauty stash I wanted something that looked a bit more like furniture than what I currently had and could house everything – makeup, haircare, nail polish, skincare, the lot. By now, you’ll know that in the end I went for the Vincent & Barn Apothecary Drawers which I am over the moon with. Seeing as there’s a tour around my new set-up coming your way today (it will be here after 9am), I thought I show you some other storage bits that could also work for makeup and are a little off piste…

If I hadn’t ended up with the drawers that I did, I think I would have gone for the Urban Outfitters Industrial Storage Dresser. How cute is that? Though when I showed Mark a picture his response was ‘Anna, we don’t live in a cotton mill‘ – it’s industrial chic don’t you know! There seems to be plenty of drawers, they don’t look too deep and there’s even little label holders. It’s like it was made for makeup. I also love the Urban Outfitters Light Blue Metal Cabinet. A nice way of adding some colour to the room and it looks hefty enough to store all your bigger beauty items too.

If your makeup collection is more on the reasonable side of things, then this West Elm Sculpted Geo Console could be more up your street. I actually love the look of this as a vanity and there are two drawers in there too which would give you more than enough space to sort your daily-grabs into MUJI drawers inside. I love this Vincent & Barn 15 Drawer Iron Unit too, which is slightly cheaper than the wooden one that I have but looks just as spacious.

I’ve also stumbled across some slightly ridiculous storage solutions, but I thought I’d include this one mainly for Pinterest-worthy reasons, or incase you have a spare £4,500 hanging around *shrieks*, but check out this Anthropologie Treasured Trinkets Dresser. OH. MY. WORD. A girl can dream, right?
