Around this time last year I was in mascara no man’s land. L’Oreal has just discontinued their Telescopic Waterproof Mascara, which I had long used exclusively for years and I was struggling to find a replacement. Though Max Factor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara filled the void somewhat and the L’Oreal Miss Manga Waterproof Mascara was good for days when I wanted a more natural lash look, there was nothing that duped Telescopic exactly. There was just something about the formula of that that held a curl in my naturally über straight lashes, while giving length and definition without ever looking spidery or OTT. You may have seen last week that recently I’ve become rather fond of the Estée Lauder Little Black Primer Mascara for no makeup days, but there are also a few others that I’d point you in the direction of if you’re still looking for a replacement for L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof…
If you want something that holds a curl and then adds some… Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara. Despite the annoying stocking issues with this mascara (please make a permanent appearance in the UK Fairydrops), it’s well worth the hunt for and is probably my favourite of all my recommendations. It holds a curl and then adds some with the little tiny fibres, (non-irritating – promise!) in the formula and the curved brush really encourages a good ol’ curl. Plus it truly is waterproof; no budging or smudging to be seen here.
If you live in the US… L’Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Waterproof Mascara. I purchased this last year when I was in NYC thanks to a recommendation from one of you lovely lot and it was such a good call. I would struggle to tell you the difference between this and the original Telescopic aside from the fact that the brush on this one is a little bit wider. Otherwise it’s a pretty spot-on dupe.
If you live in the UK and want to try the aforementioned… L’Oreal False Lash Telescopic Waterproof Mascara. This is almost identical to the Shocking Extensions one which means it’s again a dupe of the original Telescopic and thankfully available here. I’ve held the brushes side by side and despite the colour of the rubber, they’re the same damn thing. Well, isn’t this turning out to be a riveting post?
If you want a good all-rounder… Max Factor Masterpiece Waterproof Mascara. I recently remembered that this is the mascara that I used years ago back when I first started at Uni and first properly got into makeup. It’s a good option for those who love waterproof mascaras and a plastic brush. Nothing not to love and a good price too.
Any others bereft L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof lovers would add into the mascaras to try mix?
