…then it’s good enough for me” –  is a phrase I often use in life. The copious amounts of rosehip oil she suggests, my long-time lusting to get my mitts on her KORA line and Orlando Bloom. A girl can dream, right? Teenage turned adult crushes aside, it turns out  there are a few Ms Kerr-approved items that we can all possess ourselves – a slice of beauty straight out of her makeup bag. Her use of RMS Beauty, Rose-Marie Swifts range no-nonsense organic offering is a particularly well documented one, with Kerr being quoted many a time to confirm that their Living Luminizer, ‘Un’ Cover-Up and Lip2Cheek often reside in her everyday stash. So when I finally satisfied my urge and splurged, guess what three products ended up in my basket…
Yup, you got it. When this little trio of skin shimmering goodness arrived I may have whooped a little – may -Â and parcel attacked like a women possessed I began makeup playtime. First on was their ‘Un’ Cover-Up in #22 – nifty name, nifty product. A multi-tasking foundation/concealer/whatever you want it to be, packed with coconut oil. It’s not drying nor greasy and seamlessly blended in with fingers over red patches and pimples alike without a hint of cakeface. A clear contender for the spot of everyday base product – we’ll see. Next in the swatching line was the Lip2Cheek in Smile, which was probably the product that got me the least hot under the collar but turned out to be my favourite of the bunch. I usually find two-in-one products to excel in one area and turn out to be a bit of a dud in the other, but Smile looks and feels equally gorgeous (if I say so myself) on the pout and apples. Again I found my finger worked best with this peachy-pink tint which has since weaselled it’s way into my handbag. The Living Luminizer is the cult favourite that pricked my ears up to the world of RMS Beauty in the first place. ‘Like the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl, but in cream form’ – helpfully tweeted one lovely gal the other day and I think she’s hit the nail on the head. No shimmer, no glitter, no gimmicks just sheen. You know the deal by now – smudged with fingers over the cheekbones – manages to eke out some kind of bone structure. Please do excuse the confused picture of yours truly above, but all I’m sporting are these three products blended over the face, cheeks and lips along with a ‘is my self-timer working’ look – simples.
So the colours, formulas and textures get a thumbs up, but now it’s time for ingredient junkies to prepare to engage in a little airborne fist pump. The RMS line consists of all organic, non-toxic, raw, high-quality materials in their purest form – it’s where skincare meets minerals and plays happy on the face all housed in 100% recyclable packaging. I can feel my inner green goddess doing a fist pump right now. And trust me, the ‘Ingredient’ section on their website makes for some hefty but informing reading.
RMS Beauty is still a bit of an elusive one here in the UK; to get up close and personal with the products the only place I’ve found in London is Beauty Content on Bulstrode Street, but it’s available pretty freely online if you fancy playing with unswatched fire. MK’s beauty secrets uncovered, tried, tested and Anna-approved, now it’s time to work on Orlando.
