Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

I’m back on the skincare rampage and it’s not going unnoticed. A sly ‘I think it’s time for you to have a clear out of the bathroom shelf again, I can no longer fit my toothbrush on the end’ comment has been slipped in from the boyfriend and he’s right. There are plenty of new skincare bits in the house that I’ve been testing out for the past month or so and now I’m ready to share. First up a cleanser that has become a bit of a favourite from good ol’ Oskia.

I seem to be having a cleanser moment right now. I’ve been a bit slutty since cooling things down with Emma Hardie’s Cleansing Balm and have had my eyes opened to a whole host of complexion cleaners. Right now the newly released Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel* is my morning skincare weapon of choice. I want to say this is the perfect autumn cleanser – but is there really such a thing? With the weather cooling off, I’m back to favouring balms and when warmed in the palms this melts into an oily texture that feels pretty special when massaged into my chops every morning. Muslined off it leaves a bit of residue behind, but not anything gross-feeling, more like a glow that says ‘I went to bed at 7pm’ – lies. All the superficial stuff is there but the science stuff is right-on too: pumpkin enzymes to mildly exfoliate, Vitamin C and E to restore and Starflower Oil to soothe. It can be used AM and PM and to remove makeup, but I prefer to whip it out the morning as I have a different makeup remover/cleanser combo that is floating my boat in the evening. Oh teaser.

It’s £32.50 from Cult Beauty; pretty pricey but the bottle’s a bit of a whooper so I reckon it will take a fair few months to pump my way through this. But baby, the cleanser wardrobe is just getting started…
