It was never going to be long before a peachy pink lippie popped up on the blog again after my proclamation of love for bold lipsticks, was it? Well I’ve counted, it’s been 5 days since my pledge to red was documented. Pathetic. Â Ah well, sharing the love and all that – a new appreciation for ‘out-there’ lip colours has been birthed but I’m always going to have a special place in my heart for anything toned with P.P (peachy pink). Enter the Topshop Lipstick in Whimsical…
Now I’m well aware I’m about a year to late to the Topshop makeup party. But nothing has really pulled me in since its release besides their cream blushes. But with every beauty lover and their dog raving on about their lipstick range I decided to take the plunge. With Infrared out of stock (yes Zoe, I’m looking at you), Whimsical was next on my wishlist, so off I trotted to the checkout. Kitsch packaging? Check. Creamy and buildable? Check. Leaves a whimsical pinky pink sheen to the lips? Oh yes. Now although it is creamy, it is slightly on the matte side, so a good dollop of By Terry Baume de Rose under this is much appreciated. But overall I’m impressed – it certainly stands up next to my mainly MAC lipstick stash. Infrared – I will own you one day.
The Topshop lipsticks can be picked up instore or online for the pretty reasonable cost of £8. And on a complete tangent, I met the Lipstick Queen herself today, Poppy King and I sort of fell in love with her, and it has absolutely nought to do with the fact she gushed over my new coat. She’s bringing 10 new shades into her range, including three fleshy tones, a bevvy of bolds and a couple of reds – showing that lipstick lovers can lust over brights and nudes alike. Sorted.
