Need some New Years Eve inspiration? Well you’ve come to the right place for this year I’m extending my ‘NYE: 3 Plans, 3 Looks‘ that I posted 12 months ago into a more comprehensive three-post extravaganza. Whether you’re planning a wild one, a quiet one or a ‘stay inside till it all blows over’ one, I’ve rustled up a plan of attack for your wardrobe and makeup (I know, so helpful). Time to turn your mental note-taking facility on…
THE STYLE: I have to say that this outfit ensemble does make me wish I had fancy schmansy plans for NYE. For a night on the tiles I’d suggest something that is chic, subtly sexy yet comfy enough for you to throw some serious shapes in; a.k.a a jumpsuit. This Topshop Cobalt Blue PJ Wrap Jumpsuit, nips in at the right places while adding a splash of colour to your palette. Pair with these kick-ass Topshop Gamos Hi Vamp Shoes (I’m predicting these will be my ‘wear with jeans to glam-it-up’ shoe of the summer) and a seriously blinging Topshop Metal Chain Clutch, because it’s New Years so why the hell not? P.S) Can you tell I had a Topshop spree?
THE MAKEUP: The key here is longevity; you want something that’s still going to look good past midnight and in subsequent questionable Instagrams that will no doubt be deleted the following morning. A base of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, all set with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light should fit that bill. For blush keep it simple, you’ll have that dance floor flush anyway, so NARS Blush in Doucer is good option. Set your brows with the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara and for eyes I’d put forward the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I’d recommend the third look from this post for a combination that’s smokey without going too racoon-like. Finish with a smudgy line of the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal in Black Coffee and lashings of YSL’s Volume Effect Faux Cils Waterproof Mascara. For lips I think I’d keep it simple, lining with Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk, a formula that long-lasts lipstick and oomphs up your pout and coating it with the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink.
Having a pamper-licious night-in or keeping things a bit more low-key? No worries, I’ll propose some products and an outfit or two tomorrow…
