My Top 5 Places To Get Lost in a YouTube Vortex

IMG_9724

As things start to wind down on the DIY front (until November when we make a start with the bathroom – *groan*), I’ve had a bit more freetime on my hands to do things that aren’t sanding/painting/cleaning related. WHOOP. Whilst I’m mostly excited to get on a regular nail painting schedule again, I’m also quite happy to dig back into my YouTube subscription box because boy have things been mounting up. Amongst my old favourites, there are some new channels that I’ve been combing through the archives of so I thought, along with a few that I’ve mentioned before, I’d divulge my current top five places to get lost in a YouTube vortex.

Rhett & Link. When I don’t fancy a beauty hit, here is where I like to head. Rhett and Link are two guys that have known each other since school and do all sorts from their daily show ‘Good Mythical Morning’ to comedy music videos and skits, podcasts and everything else in-between. These guys have been in the YouTube game for YEARS, so the best bit is that once you get into them there’s the biggest back catalogue of videos to watch that will keep you entertained for weeks.

SugarMamma TV. I’ve been telling everyone I know about this channel created by Canna Campbell the Founder of SASS Financial. Here she shares her money saving tips; along with videos on how to budget, pay off credit card debt and all sorts of other money queries. The thing I like the most is that it’s realistic; she never says not to shop, but just to be more mindful in your shopping. Now that’s my kinda advice…

Casey Neistat. Mark is a tough one to please when it comes to YouTube videos. He likes videos that show him how to re-hang radiators, interviews with F1 drivers and that’s about it, but Casey’s videos are the only ones that we ever watch together (except when I’m showing him The Try Guy’s and desperately attempting and failing to get him into them too – in fact, The Try Guys – that’s an amazing YouTube vortex right there). Casey vlogs his daily life and there is never a dull moment. Fact. I watch them once secretly when he posts them about lunchtime, then watch them again with Mark in the evening. That’s how good they are.

Lorraine Stanick. I watched Lorraine years ago, but lost touch, recently rediscovered her channel and I’m so glad that I did. She’s a makeup and jewellery junkie and if you’re a fan of hauls then you’ve come to right place. Much like Tiffany, Chelsea, Sandra and Vanessa, she’s someone who has a very similar taste in makeup – bronzey eyes, neutral lips and a penchant for bases – so when she says she likes something then I know it’s going to be a winner for me too. Right now she’s making me want to try the BITE Beauty Lipsticks BAD.

Ruth’s ‘The Uphill’ Blog. Now not strictly a YouTube channel (though Ruth does post beauty-related videos over at ‘A Model Recommends‘), but it’s a blog I’ve got a real soft-spot for at the moment. Ruth is a close friend and I love reading all her updates on her life as a new mum of the so, so beautiful and so, so tall (!) Angelica. Oh isn’t she just adorable? Whenever there’s a new picture and post I gather all nearby people round my laptop to have a group coo with me. You’ll always have a laugh when reading a post of Ruth’s and even though I’m nowhere near the baby-stage of life myself, it makes for a really lovely read that will have you scrolling away for hours.
