I do like a good ol’ excuse to take a picture of pretty looking makeup – and a post about my current everyday makeup always seems like the perfect time to snap away. I have been getting better at rotating products around and getting some use out of things that I haven’t picked up in a while. But I somehow always manage to find a reason to throw on my current faves; Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation, L’oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara – you know the deal 😉 It’s fair to say that a lot of these products will be featuring in my ‘2011 Favourites’ video which I have already been compiling a list for…..
I am not usually a primer girl, but the Benefit The POREfessional Primer* is making me slowly change my ways. It’s still a step that I regularly forget to do, but when I do pop it on it makes my skin feel really smooth and I find that my foundation and concealer blend beautifully over the top. In terms of increasing the longevity of my make-up I would say it definitely helps, although the foundation that I use is pretty long-lasting anyway. My foundation of choice is the Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation, need I say anymore (full review here) – I did purchase the shade 2 but I find it slightly too light, so do a little mix of 2 and 3 to match my skin. For concealer I always come back to the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in the shade Sand, easily the best concealer I have ever used – I even purchased a new one the other day and a repurchase for me is a very rare thing! I contour with the brown matte shade in the Sleek Contour Kit in Light and add a touch of highlight to the cheeks with the Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Cream in Ice Gold – so subtle, but yet so glowy at the same time. My eyelashes are always curled with my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers (2 years later and they are still going strong), and then I pop on lashings of the L’oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara. For my lips I have been using the combination of the By Terry Baume De Rose and MAC’s Hue Lipstick recently. The Baume De Rose is a bit of cult product in the beauty blogging world – but is basically a £30 lipbalm – it’s nice, but I wouldn’t waste your money – the Rose & Co Rose Salve which is £5 from Boots is stupidly similar. MAC’s Hue, will always be a fave of mine – a milky pinky nude, what is not to like?
I’ve noticed that I do seem to natter away about these products all the time, but have only ever really done in-depth reviews on the foundations that I use; so expect to see some posts giving the low-down on my other makeup staples. I hope everyone is having a lovely week! Not long to go till Christmas now! I’m hopefully going to film some festive themed videos tonight so keep an eye out for them 🙂
Much Love,
Vivianna x
