Every year I buy the same Christmas candle at some point in November and it’s an achievement if it actually lasts until Christmas Day because I usually get a bit burn-happy and have to purchase another one just so I have something seasonally appropriate to light over dinner on the big day. I love it that much. The candle is Space NK’s Shimmering Spice, which is released each festive season; same scent, different packaging.
This year’s offering is pretty and delicate looking, but it’s the whiff that really gets me going. You know how some Christmas candles can get a bit heady and ‘in yer face‘ once you’ve been burning them for an hour or two? Not this one. Instead the blend of cinnamon, citrus and a little vanilla works so well that you just feel like cracking open the Baileys and eating turkey sandwiches and that’s how we all want to feel, right? Sweet, but not too sweet. Spicy, but not too spicy. You get the gist. It comes in a large size and a small-size. I’m not gonna lie – I’ve bought both. It’s all about that Christmas Day back-up.
