Going shopping with Lily is always a terrible idea. I mean it’s great in that you never have one of those episodes where you’re really in the mood to go shopping and can’t find anything you like so just end up coming home with a packet of chewing gum, a magazine and a really expensive car parking receipt, but in terms of my bank balance – it never ends well. Case in point: a few weekends ago when Rich and Lily came to visit Brighton. We had grand plans to immerse ourselves in some local culture stuff and explore the great outdoors, but in true British weather style it was bloomin’ freezing and not one out of the four of us had dressed appropriately. Sunglasses we had in abundance, but jackets that actually shielded up from the elements and meant that we didn’t shiver underneath them were notably absent. So shopping it was and with Lily and I being the twins that we are ended up going a little wild and of course had to buy everything that the other did.
As we wandered past The Body Shop I mentioned how I’d seen a few people tweet and Instagram about the new Piñita Colada range and let me tell you people I love a good Piña Colada. I’m not a big drinker but if there’s a Piña Colada or an Amaretto Sour on the menu then I’m in on the next round. Basically I’m down for any alcoholic beverage that tastes like a pudding in a cup, but I’ve got to say that Piña Coladas are up there. So I pulled Lily’s arm a bit and in we went. We knew what we wanted and immediately sniffed out the corner that smelt of holidays. One whiff of the Shower Gel and we were sold. Pineapple, coconut goodness that really is the epitome of the phrase ‘good enough to eat‘.
Of course we didn’t just exit with just the shower gel. I mean, that would have been sensible. Oh no! I also grabbed a tub of the Body Scrub because I thought that it would be a nice addition to my summer prep ‘trying to make my legs not resemble the texture of a snake’ thang that I mentioned on Monday. It is actually a lovely addition; the shredded coconut exfoliates without leaving my skin red raw and the creaminess means that it spreads far and feels strangely moisturising. When I got to the till because of some deal they were running, the Sales Assistant mentioned that I could purchase the Body Butter too for just extra pound. £1! It would be rude not too!
Basically I exited with pretty much the whole collection bar one thing I think, but seriously – believe the hype. Not only does everything smell just…GLORIOUS, for lack of a better word, the formulas are spot-on too and leave me feel all soft and scrubbed and dreaming of a Piña Colada-filled holiday… *skips off to SkyScanner*
