If You Get One Thing from MAC’s Christmas Collection…

MAC’s Christmas collection. Good memories. One year – I think it was their Tartan Tale launch back in 2010 – it was all my Christmas list consisted of. Lord it Up Eyeliner, Cut a Caper Lipstick, the Dashing Lassie Eyeshadow Palette; some of my all-time favourite MAC pieces were part of that range. Well MAC’s Heirloom Mix Christmas drop for 2014 has just arrived and once again there are some gems in there. But if you just had to pick one thing? Well then make it their Lipstick in Salon Rouge.

It’s encased in a black bullet speckled with glitter – I mean, just for that reason alone, non? But really, the colour is an absolute beaut. It’s quite a deep, berry red that pulls kinda vampy and makes teeth look seriously Hollywood white. For a matte formula it’s actually very creamy and works into the lips without too much tugging and pulling while depositing a huge whack of pigment. A candidate for a press-on lip colour this is not. Looking for this winter’s standout red? Add this one to your Christmas list.
