With only two days left till I go on holiday, I don’t think I could have a bigger smile on my face. Some people may know it as the ‘smug cat face’: I have been throwing out a few random happy dance moves in public and smiling at strangers – try it sometime, people think you are mad! Have I mentioned that I’m going on holiday 😉 Anyway childish excitement aside, the impending holiday means I have been stepping up the beauty routine – you gotta prep for those rays you know! So here are what products I’ve been turning to to help me be beach bum ready!
I’ve made the mistake of not fake tanning before a holiday before and instead vowed to tan in the sun on holiday instead. I don’t know how many times I need to remind myself that I don’t tan and what a stupid, stupid idea that ever was – I came back from that holiday looking the same as I left! So this time I’m prepping with the Xen-Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe – need I say anymore? You guys know I adore this stuff. For attempting to look bikini ready I’ve been slapping on the L’Occitane Almond Beautiful Shape Expert Cellulite Control Cream*. This is a bit of a difficult one to test as I don’t much fancy taking before and after pictures of my derrière but it’s more of a slap on and pray for the best kind of product, plus it makes your behind tingle which is very entertaining! I spoke about the Institut Esthederm Adaptasun in my haul video and I’ve been using this on alternate nights with the Xen-Tan. Using it before your holiday supposedly increases your skins natural protection to the sun at a photo cellular level, unfortunately my BSc evades me now so that’s as much as I can explain it but I’ll keep using it and let you know how I get on! With all this body primping going on it’s easy to forget hair, but to tame my tresses and give it some extra nourishment before it gets battered by the sun I’ve been massaging in some of the Bumble and Bumble Deeep Mask after each wash. Shinny locks be mine! And finally to prep my face I’ve been religiously using the By Terry Serum Terrybly Sun Booster* – a hydrating formula that ensures migration of the melanin towards the epidermis to mimic the effect of a natural tan. Again another sciencey product that I’ll have to report back on.
