It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:
1. The Cookie Monster Strikes Back. I’ve been in the kitchen for the past few weeks tweaking my original cookie recipe to create an modified version with a bit less butter and sugar, that’s a white-base instead of cocoa base and still tastes all gooey and oozing inside. I think I’ve got there and it’s fair to say that even in a household of two my latest batch didn’t last past three days and that’s a good sign, right? Check back here tomorrow for the recipe.
2. MAC Mehr Lipstick. After clearing out my beauty stash, I had some MAC empties to Back to MAC (take in 6 used-up MAC products and you get a free lipstick – WHOOP!). It took me yonks to pick out a colour, but in the end I went for Mehr – that colour that Lily has been bleating on about for months. It’s beautiful and a great colour for autumn. On me it’s a tawny, pinky, brown that pairs with anything and everything.
3. CHANEL’s Bronzy Eyeshadow Goodness. Since I purchased it a couple of weeks ago now, CHANEL’s Illusion D’Ombre in Mirage is literally all I’ve worn on my eyelids. It’s a mid-tone brown with a golden shimmer to it and it can be applied sheerly to the lids with just for your fingers or built up with a brush for more va-va-voom. Except to see a ravey post about this very soon.
4. Re-Jigging My Underwear Drawer. I know this is completely unrelated to beauty, but since I’ve been doing my whole capsule wardrobe shebang I’ve tried to downsize other aspects of my drawers and this lead me to having a bit ol’ clear out of my underwear drawer which housed some items that I’ve had for longer than I’d ever want to admit. If you’re interested I restocked it with my favourites pants ever – these bad boys from M&S.
5. The Comfiest PJ’s Ever. I also had a downsize of my PJ collection, which was rather large. I edited it down to things that were sans fake tan stains and didn’t have holes in and treated myself to a new pair from The White Company that I picked up with some gift vouchers that my mates got me for my birthday – thanks Lauren and Mel! Mark says I look like a robber in them, but I’m too darn cosy to care.
