Burgers, Beauty & The Container Store

Five Things

For this week’s cobbled together post featuring my five highlights of the past week, I thought I’d rustle up an L.A edition which will soon be followed by an L.A diary entry-style post tomorrow. All L.A-ed out? Have no fear because there’s a tonne of video content of our trip coming your way next week *wink*…

1. Our Happy Place. Within about 12 hours of Lily and I landing we’d already scouted out and ventured to the nearest Container Store. For storage nerds like us, this is true organisational porn at its finest. We spent longer in here than we did in any other shop (I think it was about an hour). Why oh why is there not one in the U.K?!

2. The Best Meal We’ve Had Out Here. Unami Burger was a recommendation that cropped up multiple times and I can truly say a big THANK YOU to anyone who threw this name our way because it was a delicious experience. It’s an Asian/burger mix and the Ahi Tuna Burger was one of the best things I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. OMG. I salivate just looking at the photo above.

3. My Favourite Purchase So Far. The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF50+ in Light. You know I love a good light to medium coverage, dewy skin thing base and this is IT. Quite literally. It tricks you into thinking you have nothing on but actually provides a decent whack of pigment. I’m tempted to pick up another before we leave.

4. The Hotel That I’d Recommend. Whilst in L.A we had a very pleasant stay at The Chamberlain. The room was massive despite us opting for the most basic one and it was close enough to everything that we needed to get to that most Uber’s came in at well under $10. Plus, just look at that lobby. The whole place was equally Instagram-able.

5. We Visited The Mothership. And things got a little wild. As always. Despite it only being a few months since I last visited a Sephora on U.S shores, I still managed to find a tonne of buys that I just had to try. I came armed with a list but of course that went out the door the minute I stepped foot in store. I’ll pop up a haul very soon.
