The New Blue & A Primer Water?

Five Things

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:

1. A Primer Water? I’ve seen the US beauty gals go on about the Smashbox Primer Water for months, so when I spotted a bottle in my local Boots, I snapped it up and it’s an interesting one. A water-like liquid that you spritz on before makeup as a pre-setter that helps everything hang around longer? I’ll have a full review coming next week.

2. I’ve FINALLY Moved On To A New Polish. I’ve finally been switching it up from my usual Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint in Eat My Dust and have graduated to something a little bit more lilac in tone – Topshop Nails in Blue Rinse. It’s like the perfect cornflower blue and might be one of the longest lasting polishes I’ve ever lacquered on. Four days later and just a few minor chips to be seen.

3. The Natural Looking Cat Eye Trick. So I think I’m finally there with liquid eyeliner as this week I discovered the trick to make it look über natural in a kind of ‘no makeup makeup’ way that I’ve never been able to pinpoint before. Expect the deats to drop in the next few days (it’s so simple, you’ll wonder how I managed to cough up a 400-word+ post on it!).

4. Dior Do Lipsticks. I haven’t given much of the Dior Lipstick line a go in the past, but in the past week or so I’ve really got in to some of the shades from their Dior Rouge Dior range; 468 Rose Bonheur is a definite highlight. They’re actually a fab formula. Pigmented, but not dry and sheeny, without being too glossy.

5. An Exhibition Not To Miss. If you get a chance to go to the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A then GO. I had the chance to visit a few weeks back and I don’t think I’ve ever been so agog at something in my life. What a talent.
