New from NARS and My Perfume All Star

Lips and Rings

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:

1. A Kat Von D urge. It’s a brand that keeps cropping up every time I peruse through the pages at Sephora and I think a debut purchase may need to made soon. The pictured palettes do take my fancy – especially that browny toned one, obvs – but I’ve also heard multiples raves about their eyeliner. Anyone have anything else to add to the list?

2. The NARS Fall/Holiday 2014 drop. Oh isn’t it a beauty? It’s not in my usual uniform neutral tones, but I quite welcome the change in season and the jewel-like hues that come with it. I’m always impressed with NARS’ lip offering and the duos look like a different, but much welcomed veer off my usual eyeshadow path. The collection should be making its way to counters as I type.

3. The lipstick that I’ve barely taken off. I think that KIKO’s Ace of Diamond Lipstick in 27 is this year’s version of Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107. Lighter and with a bit more berry to it, it just does ‘autumn‘ in one quick swipe. It’s not as matte as the other bolds that I rock, but sits smoothly on the lip and pairs nicely with a parred back eye which basically means I’ve been wearing it most days.

4. Diptyque Vetyverio. For me to get to the very last spritz of a perfume means that I must have really liked it. So I guess I must really like Diptyque’s Vetyverio EDT which I’ve been attempting to get the final spritz out of all week. I’ve pumped it on daily this summer and with a fresh whiff that never gets too heady or noticeable for my tastes, a repurchase is most definitely on the cards.

5. My new ring home. You like? I’ve had this Bailey Doesn’t Bark Ring Cone from Shop Anomie for a few months now and it’s been quite the joy having somewhere to pile up all my rings instead of letting them disperse in my makeup drawer and get covered in a mix of red lipstick, eyeliner and foundation. Now they have a home.

And I’m throwing in another mention this week as I’ll be attending the ‘Look Good Feel Better ‘Theatre of Beauty’ at Harvey Nichols’ event in their Knightsbridge store on 4th November. They’ll be drinks, food, makeovers, skincare consultations – the lot, and it’s all in aid of raising money and awareness of Look Good Feel Better for their 20th Anniversary. You can buy tickets here and if you manage to get a VIP one you’ll get a 15 minute one-on-one with me where we can talk about whatever you fancy – beauty, baking, boys. Hopefully see you there!
