It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. All edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away…
1. Essie Gels Rock. I’ve never had a professional gel manicure done before on my fingernails or toenails, so it was a first for me when I visited the Paul Edmonds salon and got lacquered up with Essie’s Sunshine State of Mind – a bright, coral orange from their 2016 Resort collection. 10 days in and it’s still going strong on my toes with only a little bit of chipping on my fingers. It’s ridiculously hardy stuff. Big thumbs up.
2. Picture Perfect. I got it! The Crystallize Print from Minted now has a new home in our bedroom and I couldn’t be more chuffed with it. Despite picking it out to hang landscape, it ended up looking better portrait so we did a switch-a-roony with the backing and now I couldn’t imagine it any other way. It’s such a pretty piece and Mark and I often lay there saying what things we can see in the patten of the water. I see pug faces all the time, he sees Coal Miners.
3. Two Pumps, One Brush. You know that my current obsession is doing one pump of foundation and one shot of the MAC Strobe Cream on the top of my ZOEVA 104 Buffer Brush and slopping it on my face in one minute, yeah? Well right now I’m back into my It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream which I used a tonne when I was away. A full coverage foundation with the cream highlight is just the right balance of longevity and dew. Perf.
4. The Best Darn Aftersun. I picked up the Clarins After Sun Moisturiser Self Tanning last minute before I headed to Coachella because I realised I was after sun-less and remembered what a cracking product this is. A soothing lotion to pop on when you get back in the evenings, it has a small dose of faux glow in it that isn’t enough to turn you orange or stain your hands a shade of tangerine, but just oomphs up your natural sun kissed complexion. Perfect if you’re like me and you go on holiday and end up coming back looking even more like Casper the Friendly Ghost.
5. Our Daily Edit. If you ever head to Brighton and have some money burning a hole in your pocket then I highly recommend stopping by here. In fact it’s one of my favourite shopping spots in Brighton. They do everything from clothing to shoes and bags to accessories and the lack of black means I actually end up buying pieces that are slightly colourful whenever I visit. Cream counts as colourful, right?
