We all know what products make up the backbone of a good weekend pamper by now: masks, bath oils, a mini mani, two hours locked in the bathroom with only ELLE magazine for company – all that jazz. But what about the products that ramp up the pamper to the next level? Thought your regime couldn’t get any better? Time to rethink…
BODY – a scrub/oil hybrid like Garnier’s Oil Infused Nourishing Scrub. Deploying a full-on body care routine is a process that I just find lengthy and downright boring, but this little handy scrub speeds everything up. It smells like summer and scrubs away while leaving behind a just-polished glow. Formulas like this are prone to leaving behind a greasy film, but there’s no slipperiness to be felt here, just a sheen.
HAIR – a clay-based mud mask like Aestalance Mud Mask. I gave the full deets on this stuff here, but the long and short of it is that a clay-based mud mask for your locks not only sorts out any scalp issues by soothing and de-clogging, but also conditions the lengths leaving your roots happy and your ends smooth. It’s messy, but kinda fun and this one in particular makes your mop smelling über fresh.
MIND – a spa-like soothing candle like Aromatherapy Associates’ Candle in Relax. Yes, yes I do love my candles (and now secretly have a special drawer for them, there’s that many – Houston we have a problem), but this new one from Aromatherapy Associates may just be one of my favourites yet. Myrrh and West Indian Bay mix to create a blend that is so spa-like all you have to do is close your eyes and you’re practically there; champagne flute in hand and shuffling around in your cotton gown and slippers.
FACE – a one-week faux glow like Garnier’s Amber Solaire One Week Self-Tan Cream for Face. Once you’ve done all the masks and moisturiser get-up the only way to dial up your weekend facial is to slap on a one-dose-a-week tanning lotion. It sounds terrifying, but I assure you one light layer of this does the trick and ensures things look subtly sun kissed come the morning. Just re-apply each Sunday. I think this could be the easiest skincare step ever.
NAILS – a two-in-one moisturiser and cuticle carer like Sarah Chapman’s Overnight Hand and Nail Treatment. Sure a thick mitt moisturiser is nice and paired with a cuticle oil your hands are going to feel seriously loved, but what’s better than that? A formula that does both and without greasiness. I pop this one from Sarah Chapman on before bed and in the morning things feel so smooth I just feel like touching my face all day like I’m in some kind of skincare advert. True story.
