Although I no longer stand outside the MAC store on the second Thursday of every month when the new collections hit the store waiting for it to open (or is the first Thursday of the month? It’s a been a while), I’m still like a kid in a candy store whenever I make a visit. Over the years I’ve tried a lot of their products; some of which I’ve liked and some of which I’ve loved and have become my everyday go-to’s. MAC Patisserie anyone? Today I thought I’d share five things that most definitely fall into the latter category…
MAC Lipstick in Patisserie – I mean while we’re on the subject, it really is a fab lipstick. It’s a nude that I can picture to look pretty darn great on anyone and everyone. The texture is pretty glossy, but it packs enough of a punch in the pigment department that it’s not exactly sheer. It’s a little bit peachy, a little bit pink and a little bit brown. Side note: don’t but put off by any shimmers you see what you swatch it. They really don’t translate to much on the lips.
MAC 217 Brush – I’ve said it time and time again, but this brush can see me through any eyeshadow look. In fact I don’t feel like I truly ‘got‘ eyeshadow until I started to use this brush. It’s fluffy enough to buff colour into the crease, but dense enough to pack a light wash all over the lid. It’s and amazing multi-tasker in that it works well with liquid products too. Sometimes I even pop concealer on with it.
MAC Eyeshadow in Sable (top right in my quad) – You might have expected me to mention a different colour here – maybe Texture? Perhaps All That Glitters? – but really Sable is the colour that these days I get the most use from. It’s a taupe, but almost a warm taupe that leans a little red. An unusual and unique colour really. I love it because it just looks great on its own, all over the lid with lashings of mascara. You’ll see me wear this in videos quite a lot because it’s my ‘I have no idea what eyeshadow to wear – AH I’ll just wear this one‘ shade.
MAC Lip Pencils (any colour!) – I don’t own many lip pencils, but from the ones I do have, MAC makes up the majority. The formula is a little stiff compared to others, but for what it lacks in creaminess it makes up for in longevity. Oh and the colour range! The colour range is one of the best out there. If you need a lipstick match, then you can bet your bottom dollar that MAC will have something that fits the bill. I love Heroine, Cherry, Ruby Woo and Beet.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural – I’ve had my compact of this for so long, that it’s still in the old packaging so I feel like it’s really time to upgrade. When it comes to powders though, this is probably one of my all-time favourites for when I want to set things, but in a way that never looks powdery and provides a bit of coverage too. In the summer this always looks great just applied over a heavily moisturised base to even things out a little. I always go back to it and it will always have a special place in my heart.
