A certain shade from Essie’s autumn drop caused such a stir in the beauty blogging world that when I caught a glimpse of it in my local Boots, I may have barged a fellow shopper to the side. Though in my defence there was only one bottle left and I couldn’t risk it flying off the shelves before I’d had my turn to peruse the counter now could I? The colour in question is After School Boy Blazer; cute name, cool colour. In fact I’d say it’s one of a just a handful of polishes in my collection that is unique and undupable amongst the varnishes I own. Yes I’ve got blues, yes I’ve got navy’s but this is a blackened navy. Two coats layered on does that whole duochrome thing of looking black in some lights and navy in others. I cant stop staring at my tips; it’s already won the title of the ‘Official VDM Autumn Nail Polish of 2013’.Â
You can pick it up here for £8.50 without any elbow warring. Its only downfall? Being a dark shade I find the cuticles can get a wee bit messy. Thought it’s nothing that an eyeliner brush dipped in polish remover can’t tackle – a top mani move for your there.
