Dry Tips Quick Fix

This week VDM does nails. Five posts detailing my top mani tips to colour picks serving up at lunchtime each day. Today I’m divulging my dry quick mani tips…

There is one rule of thumb when it comes to waiting for your nail polish to dry. Just after you’ve painted on the last tip of top coat you will need to scratch your nose/go to the loo/answer the door to your postman and sign for a parcel. It’s just sods law. So speedy solutions to fasten up the drying process are always welcomed in my eyes. I’ve managed to stumble across two so I thought I’d give you the low-down. One’s as easy as pie, the other takes two products to reach bone-dry status:

TAKE A DIP. This one’s an oldie but a goodie. Submerge your freshly painted fingers in a pool of ice cold water for a few minutes until things have firmed-up and dried. I don’t find this to be the most effect method, but it does significantly cutback on airing time and there’s no purchase necessary. Some say that this makes the product prone to chipping, though I find my nails chip whatever method I’ve put them though; that’s what I get for washing up the dishes sans gloves. Maverick.

LAYER, SPRAY AND GO. I mentioned this duo in my October Favourites video, but I thought I’d hammer home the point again. Mavala Mavadry Top Coat topped up with their Mavadry Spray means I can go and do whatever damn activity I like approximately one minute post-application. After rigorous testing I do believe that it’s the spray that makes the difference; an oily deposit that dries polish up like no other, while giving a mist of moisture too. Though the combination of the two is smudge-free polish perfection.

Two tips to a speedy varnish dry time – you go and itch that scratch. Any up your sleeve? Do share…
