It’s almost time to head home for Christmas *squeals*. Over the past few weekends Mark and I have been here, there and everywhere seeing family as the festive season gets into full swing and with all this to-ing and throwing not only have I got better at unpacking (much to Mark’s delight), I’ve really honed in my packing skills. The above beauty bumf encompasses everything from body to makeup, hair to skincare and actually packs up to a luggable-friendly amount. There’s nothing unnecessary, just the essentials that would see me through a week-long visit or so. So today I thought I’d share the contents with you (and not only just because I wanted to write a post with one of my favourite Christmas songs in the title)…
HAIR: I’m low maintenance in the hair department anyway so there’s not really much to see here. I’ve taken the REN Oat & Bay Shampoo and Pro Vitamin Conditioner from their Grab and Go Set (more from that later), along with a miniature version of The Wet Brush (hooooooow cute) and a few hairbands I’m sorted.
BODY: Again I’m not too fussed when it comes to bath and body bits when I travel so a shower gel and moisturiser (the latter can probably be ditched as I end up using it only when I feel like an absolute prune) will do. Again I’m packing the bits from the REN Grab & Go Set (it’s come in very handy) – the Neroli & Grapefruit Shower Gel and Body Cream. Oh and a razor. Never, forget the razor.
SKINCARE: The following is a little collection of travel sizes I’ve dusted off from my drawers and must-haves that I’ve decanted. Again from the REN Kit (you sensing a theme here?), there’s the Rose Centifolia Cleansing Gel which actually I’m not the biggest fan of as I can find it a bit drying, but it does the job and is nice and compact, Vita Mineral Daily Supplement Cream (which I really like) and then the Vita Mineral Active 7 Eye Gel (nice, but it doesn’t blow my socks off). Daytime moisturiser taken care of I’m going to throw in a little pot of the Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream and the Georgia Louise Sleeping Beauty Oil for nighttime – oh and the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair (which I’m currently using AM and PM). Other favourites that are coming along with me are a miniature the Pai Lotus & Orange Blossom BioAffinity Toner and the Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover which I basically can’t go a day without.
MAKEUP: Picking a base is always a toughie, but I decided that low-key makeup days would be taken care of complexion-wise by the Clarins Instant Concealer in 01 and for occasions I feel need a bit more coverage I’m going to amp it up with the CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Velvet in B10. I skipped cheeks completely, bar the Soap & Glory Solar Powder and plan to pack the Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer in Sepia for my brows. Of course when it comes to travel it’s all about the palette so I went for the Lorac Pro Palette – surprise, surprise – with an addition of the Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara, the Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘n’ Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Eye Cheat and the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Brown(Out). For lips I went for a nude option and a red. The nude I decided would be looked after by a balm, the By Terry Baume de Rose one which is my low-maintenance choice, but to satisfy my rouge urge I’m throwing in the L’Oreal Collection Prive Lipstick in Julianne’s Red.
Right, now it’s time for this….
