You might of heard of DP London before, they were previously known as ‘Davina Peace’ and sold a very fancy, natural bodycare range online. I have actually tried some of their previous Davina Peace products and fell in love with their Body Oil ages ago – it is easily the best body oil I have ever tried. But the company have undergone a little reinvention recently and have relaunched as DP London. To celebrate they have collaborated with singer/songwriter and now fashion designer Pearl Lowe to release a delicious range of scented candles which is what this shindig in the Mayfair was all about. The suite it was held in smelt heavenly! Candles were burning all around the room (obviously), Pearl Lowe herself was swanning around (too nervous to say hello), and we were talked through the rest of the DP London range. We were lucky enough to be able to take one of these limited edition beauties home.
Isn’t it gorgeous? I absolutely adore the black and gold ‘Pearl Lowe, DP London’ crest! The candle itself smells amazing, although DP London stock 2 other scents White Flowers and Citrus Fruits, the limited edition Pearl Lowe packaging is only available on the Spiced Punch scent – which is my favourite by far – it’s basically Christmas in a candle. The scent is festive mix of bergamot, orange peel, cedar wood and cinnamon with notes of cloves, ginger, nutmeg and vanilla. It a combination that just smells ‘warm’ and giving that comforting aroma. Unlike a lot of other candles DP London use no palm oil in their products, which is an ingredient that leads to deforestation, and no paraffin – the mining of which is unsustainable. Plus, the candles are presented in a bespoke handmade Japanese porcelain container which is reusable. It’s basically a guilt-free, amazing smelling, luxury candle. However with all ‘luxury’ candles there is a rather hefty price tag – £30 to be exact, and it can be found on ASOS, in Selfridges and on their online store. I have really been loving burning this and some of my other favourite candles at the moment. This is my ‘go-to’ festive scent, but for sweeter smells I love the Jelly Belly Toasted Marshmallow candle and the Yankee Candle Strawberry Buttercream – yum! Any other tasty candles I need to try? I have been eying up the Laura Mercier ones on their US site, does anyone know if they will be available over here?
