Currently Burning: The Festive Candle Edit

IMG_9319

Over the years I’ve tried my fair share of Christmas candles. In our household whipping out a festive scented votive is a tradition up there with decorating the tree; I look forward to lighting one up from the moment summer ends. If like me you end up with a different cinnamon-y candle that smells good enough to eat in each room of the house then I thought I’d share my three favourites as a serving of scent inspiration…

Laura Mercier Luxe Signature Candle in Roasted Chestnut. Last year I strategically asked for one of these from about three family members just so I’d have enough to keep me going well into the new year because I love it so much. Unfortunately though, I can’t seem to find it for sale this year – Laura Mercier what’s happened? Please don’t tell me it’s discontinued as once again this year it makes up the bulk of my Christmas list.

Diptyque Épice Christmas Candle. Each year Diptyque comes out with a trio of festive candles and each year it’s the one that comes in red packaging that is my favourite. They’re always a little spicy, a little oriental and a little more evening appropriate while still smelling like Christmas. Just in a really chic way.

The White Company Winter Candle. Coming in all different shapes and sizes this is a classic Christmas candle; basically mulled wine in wax form. Cinnamon, orange, clove – I like to get the one that has all the dried fruit stuffed down the sides to make it more of a decorative feature and even just the medium size one will last you way past New Year.
