Clarisonic Mia

Firstly, may I wish you all a Happy New Year! New Year, new starts and all that – new job, no more Internships and plenty more beauty products to add to my forever growing wishlist I am sure 😉 The past few days have a been a bit of a blur, and I will be the first to put my hand up and admit that a fair few purchases have been made – whoops! In fact I’m thinking of splitting it into 2 ‘Haul/What I Got For Christmas’ videos – one for clothing and accessories and the other for beauty bits – how does that sound? I’ll save showing most of it to you till then, but there is one thing that I have been dying to share with you guys. I asked for it for Christmas and was a good girl all year, and was lucky enough to receive, yep you’ve guessed it – the Clarisonic Mia…

It was given to me by my ever dutiful, bemused and understanding Boyfriend and I will just say that a few subtle hints were made (ok I even gave him the Grazia 30% code so he could get it cheaper on ASOS as it usually retails for around £120)! To him it is an electric toothbrush for your face, and it layman’s terms it is! I’m sure you’ve all seen it be raved about before, but it’s basically a handle with a vibrating brush head on the top. The brush fibres vibrate at over 300 movements per second and the idea is that it gives you a throughly deep cleanse – 6 times deeper in fact. It’s supposed to help with a plethora of skin ailments – dry skin, oily patches, wrinkles the whole lot!  With my recent obsession with skincare, this was next on my list of purchases so I was extremely happy to find this under my tree. I had been on the fence about it for a while but after seeing it so frequently appear on ‘Into The Gloss’s’ Blog so often (one of my favourite reads) I was swayed. I have only used it for 4 days so far, so can’t really comment on it yet, but I have been using the Mia in place of my usual Liz Earle Muslin Cloth, with my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Cleanser and my skin seems to be responding to it well. It’s a well documented fact that when beginning to use the Clarisonic, many people experience a ‘purging’ phase for a few weeks (basically where your skin goes a bit crazy: spots, red patches that kind of thing), but aside from 2 spots and a small red bump after the second day of use, I can report no more nasties have erupted, but I’ll keep you updated. I reckon it’ll take a few months of use before I can give you a full in-depth review, but I’ll be sure to let you know if it’s worth the hype 😉
