Right, I’ve covered makeup and dresses so now I’m moving on to the finishing touches. The shoes, the bags, the jewels….the watch. I have to say that this is the area in which I am less versed. I’m the kinda gal that is in such a rush to get ready, that I walk out of the front door with no ‘extras’ on and usually with my pants on inside out. The latter happens about once a week at the moment. I’m blaming the dark mornings. So my accessory selection is a little sparse, meaning that I only have one pick for each category up my sleeve. But trust me – they are good’uns…
THE SHOES. If high heeled boots (my go-to) just aren’t cutting the mustard and you need something a little fancier, I don’t think you can go wrong with the Whistles Black Suede Heeled Court Shoes. Hubba hubba! The cut just elongates legs and is there anything chicer than a pointy toed court? No, I think not. Closed toe, so you can wear them with tights I’ve also been sporting them with black jeans, my leather skirt and everything else. I don’t want to take them off.
THE BAG. When it comes to clutch bags I’m very loyal. I had an Aldo one that lasted me all the way through Uni – by the end it had a  lovely mix of lash glue, VK Orange and glitter coating it. Nice. The Whistles Rivington Clutch is my adult going-out bag. The sleek black pouch and gold chain go with everything and it’s so roomy. It’s like a Mary Poppins bag this one. I can’t seem to find a link for it online, but I always spot it in store, though this one is pretty similar.
THE JEWELS. I actually think that aside from a few cocktail rings and statement necklaces, the Kurt Geiger Cassie Bracelet is the only other piece of jewellery that I own. A mate got it for me a few years back and I still throw it on from time to time these days. Simple, combining leather and gold it adds a little somethin’ somethin’, looks good stacked and doesn’t scream ‘BLING’.
THE WATCH. I’m not sure you’ve been formally introduced to the latest addition to my wrist yet have you? Well, meet the Nixon The Kensington Leather, my Birthday present this year from the bloke. I reckon this will be a classic for years to come. Not too dainty, it’s like an oversized men’s watch with a gold face and black leather strap. I lurve it. Worn with any of the aforementioned dresses it helps to keep things from looking too prissy.
….and that commences my Christmas Party Picks for the season. You all sorted now? Fab, great. Enjoy your Christmas soirée! Just don’t get too tipsy that you copy your backside on the office photocopier. I can’t get you out of that one.
