A few of you eagle-eyed beauties may have spotted this crop up in the information box of my latest video. I decided the other day after a pretty successful meeting that I needed a treat, so winged my way to the nearest Space NK to indulge in my first ever Chantecaille product. After hearing this brand be spoken about by 2 of my biggest ‘enablers’, namely Tanya and Laura, I finally indulged. The Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser, seemed like their stand-out product, and although I do love my Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation (so much I have just repurchased another bottle), some days I do fancy something a little more lighter on the skin and with a dewier finish and this seemed perfect. Ok now for the bad bit, this 50ml bottle put me back £55 (*eek* really hope my Mum never reads this, she would be sick in her mouth), it is almost double the size of normal foundations but there really is no justification for that spend!
I have been testing this out for the past few days and I have to say that it has taken a little bit of getting used to. I’m now pretty acclimatised to the natural, yet medium coverage finish that the Jemma Kidd gives, and the Chantecaille is definitely a step-down from that coverage-wise. It also provides a much dewier finish, although I have been skipping powder completely and embracing the glow. Glow, by the way is the shade that I went for and it’s a nice match for my skin. The Sales Assistant was pushing for me to purchase Alabaster, the lightest shade of them all, but I was having none of it and wanted something that would suit my slightly more tanned skin in the Summer. I’ll hold off on a full review yet, but so far I’m liking it. I can this becoming my choice of base for ‘Au Natural’ days, which have been happening a lot recently! I much favour sleeping on the morning commute rather than troweling it on. Is it worth £55? The jury is still out on that one…
