The Pat Butcher-esque obsession continues…

You know that I’m not one for anything too wild in the style and beauty departments, but this weekend I found myself rocking a red lip, a breton stripe top and leopard print boots. Two patterns and a red lip? I bloomin’ loved it. It had a touch of Parisian flavour, which is what I aim for basically every day that I’m not wearing loungewear or leggings (so that’s two days out of the week then). ‘What would Emmanuelle Alt do?’ is the question that I ask myself as I try to decide whether to wear black, black or black each morning.

This little outfit combination is one that I’ve been cracking out a lot recently in different forms. The ZARA Jeans are a comfortable stretch-material (I’m afraid I can’t find the exact link, but I got them in-store recently), that are just the right wash to feel casual, yet dressy enough if needed. I wore them a load in Barcelona as the fabric was a bit lighter than the other pair that I brought along with me, but I love them best with this Armor-Lux Breton Stripe Top. I’ve been eyeing this up in Our Daily Edit for yonks, but I finally did the deed and I’m so happy I did. It was a bit pricey for a jersey, but it’s one of those investment pieces, that reviews online say gets better with age. It loosens a little and the thick fabric gets a bit more give in it. I have to say that so far it’s washed well and I foresee this becoming a bit of a wardrobe staple for the cooler months.

Speaking of investment pieces, I feel like this outfit is just asking for my CHANEL Wallet on a Chain to be pulled out. It just pairs with the whole thing really nicely and I’m still as in love with it as I was the day I purchased it. Any future daughter of mine will physically have to prise it out of my hands. Belt-wise I only actually have one and it’s the & Other Stories Croco Leather Belt in Black which does the job of being chunky enough, whilst not looking like a WWE belt.

The leopard print flavour gets added to the outfit in two forms. Firstly by my Dick Moby CPT Sunglasses in White Havana, which give a tortoiseshell nod. Then by my Whistles Belmont Leopard Print Chelsea Boots which are my favourite purchase of recent times. They make me feel a bit like Russell Brand and after one extremely painful day of wear I was ready to toss them out of the window. But thankfully, one day is all it took and now they’re like putting on little furry gloves for my feet. I have been wearing them with anything and everything. Thank gawd for a fully-monochrome wardrobe, eh?
Now for the red lip. For all the info on that and the other makeup I’m wearing, plus a mini bit of hair advice, have a watch of the video below which I partnered with Bourjois on. If you’re in the market for a red lip product, this will sort you out…
