Recently I’ve become quite the backer-upper. Not so much with high priority items like my laptop which I really should back up or given my recent two-hour long locked-out episode you would have thought we would have cut another set of keys for a neighbour – oh no – I’m talking straight-up beauty here. I’ve just been burnt too many times by HG products that I’ve loved and lost. First the Jemma Kidd Light as Air Foundation and then L’Oreal’s Telescopic Waterproof Mascara who both left forever before I had the chance to fill a drawer full with. Then there’s the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel which thanks to its chic-looking, but not the most practical packaging conks out before you’ve had time to place another order. So I’m not taking any chances anymore and have backed up the best bits from my beauty stash so I’m never without them (well for a few months or so)…
As I mentioned it already I’ll go with the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel first. When this pumps out its final blob of cleanser goodness there’s always a ‘noooooo’ that echos around the flat because I my skin just gets so sad without it. Now I’m going to put my hands up here and say that I actually own three bottles of these if we’re counting the one that’s currently in use and good news everyone; it’s now available in store at Space NK. WHOOP. Finally. Stock up peeps.
In the hair department I just picked up two bottles of the Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo, because I’ve been without it for a few weeks now and my hair is getting grease-say. It feels ridiculous to say that I need a £20 shampoo, so I won’t say it’s a need but it’s a very prominent want. Nothing else makes my hair feel as clean as this and for an oily scalped gal that’s what you’re looking for in your follicles. Luckily, I’ve now got enough shampoo for a couple of months before I need to make that eye-watering purchase again. Thank gawd for Boots Advantage Card points.
Finally, when I spotted the Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara in stock after it had been sold out for the best part of half a year, I jumped on the opportunity to load up my basket, after all, I’ve been here before with mascara. I went for two and can now bin my last tube which has probably been out of date for the last three months but I’ve been eking it out its use because I love it so much and crossing my fingers I don’t get an eye infection.
I can’t be the only one who’s a bit crazy about beauty back-ups, non? Go on – tell me what you’ve secretly got stashed away.
