Along with the bellyful of nerves that came with holding #BeautyChatLIVE (Will anyone even come? Will there be enough food/drink/people/fun etc etc), also came the ‘I have nothing to wear’ stress that often dawns when you’re looking at a wardrobe so full that new hanger space has to be found by creeping over to your significant other’s side. Now I have clothes don’t get me wrong, but I’m more a jeans and jumper kinda gal. Something fancy that just tips over the point of smart casual? Yeah, I got nothing. So out I went the weekend before the tour kicked off to stock up on a new uniform that didn’t include denim. Three outfits to rotate twice were found and I’m really chuffed with the results. All comfy, but all kind different. Hell – even two dresses made the cut. Here are the deats (P.S I’m kinda cheating here as I forgot to take pics on the nights when I actually wore them, but you get the gist)…
OUTFIT 1: COS Dress | Primark Tights | ASH Boots
A dress that’s not black. Hooray! It’s more of a tunic actually and with contrasting panelling and a nicely cut fit it’s a COS classic. Paired with the good ol’ ASH Jalouses, I can see me wearing this sans tights in the summer. A good one to dress up or down.
OUTFIT 2: Whistles Top | River Island Trousers | ASH Boots
When it doubt, crack out the leather look trousers – that’s what I say. They’re not the most moveable of bottom halves and I always worry I’m going to have a Ross from Friends moment in them, but they just look a bit more swish than jeans. Plus this Whistles top is a beaut. There is a bit of a bra issue here, so I whipped mine off before we headed out to Space NK. I must apologise to all who ended up with my breast propped up on their shoulder when we all took pictures together.
OUTFIT 3: All Saints Dress | Primark Tights | Aldo Boots
I think this was my favourite of the three. A dress that could hide the fact I’d just gone wild on the mini bar and the pattern gives a bit of somethin’ somethin’ to an otherwise all black outfit. Super comfortable and actually the one I got asked most where it was from. Thanks ladies!
Still all monochrome – I know, I know – but two dresses? I’m getting there. *pats self on back*
