Angel EDT

I do love my perfumes I do (look out for a perfume collection video coming soon on my Youtube channel), but there is one cult perfume that my collection has always lacked – Angel EDP. The infamous Angel was the first fragrance created by Thierry Mugler back in 1992, and is touted as an ‘Oriental Gourmand’ scent, with top notes of bergamot and helional, a heart of fruit and honey and base notes of chocolate, caramel and patchouli. It’s heady mix, and raises much debate, it’s a marmite scent – you either love it or you hate it. I fall into the love camp, and always had a quick sniff whenever I’m near a fragrance counter. However, if you have always found this coveted scent a bit too overpowering, then rejoice as Thierry Mugler have recently released a fresher, lighter, EDT version of Angel!

This new formulation is the more wearable, daytime version of the original. It’s tuned into lighter base notes, but still with that sweet twist that is synonymous with Angel. Thierry Mugler break it down into 3 ‘waves’; a ‘Heavenly Wave’ of pink peppercorn for a spicy burst, followed by a sweet ‘Delicious Wave’ of delicate praline and pink fruits and finally a ‘Voluptuous Wave’ containing soft tones of cedar and luxurious white musk. For me this is a great autumnal scent, I like to smell girly and sweet and this satisfies that need but with an added air of sophistication. It is light enough to be worn throughout the day, and unlike a lot of other EDT’s is long lasting, I can still smell the white musk base hours after I first spritzed it on.
