A Red Lip? Eau La La

ALERT! ALERT! I’m wearing some colour on my face! Are you feeling ok you ask? Well actually I did have a bit of a funny turn this morning so perhaps the red lip explains it! You guys know I’m not one for colour, in fact I gave my one and only red lipstick to a friend so when the new Sleek Eau La La Liner in Moulin Rouge* arrived on my doorstep I guess someone, somewhere was trying to tell me something.

Released in 20 shades these multi-functional pencils can used on the eyes, lips and face and claim to be waterproof and smudgeproof. Now let’s face it the shade Moulin Rouge lends itself as a lip product and as far as the claims go I have to agree – it didn’t budge at all and was ridiculously long lasting – it even survived me devouring through a roast dinner! I think the shade goes quite well with my skintone too – nothing too cool toned or warm toned, just a straight up pure red. I like the idea of doing a red lip just with a pencil, you have much more control, can get a more precise finish and it’s much less messy. I also found them to be quite creamy, not too drying on the lips at all. In this picture I have paired it with my usual beauty suspects, Jenma Kidd Light As Air foundation in 03, By Terry Touche  Veloutee concealer in 3, my Boudoir Lashes eyelash extensions* (which are still going strong four weeks on) and a touch of NARS Madly on the cheeks.

I was so in love with the Eau La La Liners that I made a dash for Superdrug and picked up another colour, Melba, a peachy orange. If you fancy a bright neon lip for Summer then this pencil is fab. For reference they cost £4 each which I think is very reasonable! I am I the only one who has an urge to draw all over my face with them? Have any if you tried any shades?
