A NARS Sheer Glow Revival

My foundation stocks have become worryingly high in recent times due that the fact that I can’t stop buying them – I seriously need to be supervised at all times – but there’s been one that despite all the noise has risen to the top of my pile. NARS Sheer Glow. It’s a foundation that I purchased way back when in my Uni days, loved it, finished it up and then completely forgot about it as Jemma Kidd Light As Air took over (now who remembers my obsession with that? +2 VDM reader points to you). I’m not quite sure what made me pick it up again during a perusal of Space NK, but whatever the urge was I’m glad it occurred because gawd is this stuff good.

Let’s start with the basics. Think Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk with a bit more dew, or CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua but with a bit more coverage – there sits NARS Sheer Glow. Like all my foundation favourites it vanishes into the skin to just create a really, really flawless looking complexion. It lasts well, the shade Deauville is a perfect match for me and it just looks natural, letting my natural sheen (read: sweat) peek through, while keeping the coverage in place.

It doesn’t come cheap and set me back £31 from Space NK, and the accompanying pump is £3 if you remember to pick it up (unlike me – doh!). But it’s a ‘little goes a long way’ formula and I’m always surprised by how the smallest smudge of the stuff can sort me out for everyday use when blended on with the Louise Young LY34 Brush. For a more covered finish, the Real Techniques Buffing Brush is your guy.

If you want to see it in action head to end of this ‘Weekly Vlog’ where I’m sporting it for the first time on the Saturday and I think there you see the best representation of what this formula has to offer; ‘my face but better’, natural glowy goodness. NARS Sheer Glow I promise never to forget you again.
